What is Bend-Tech HD? Finally a tool is
available to remove the trial and error out of tube header manufacturing.
Bend-Tech HD allows any user to be able to design his own tube headers in
minutes, providing detailed step-by-step instructions where to cut and rotate
each tubular segment. Bend-Tech HD is the only product in the world to help you
design custom tube headers and break it down to fabrication instructions to use
pre-bent mandrel tubing.
How hard is it to use? Bend-Tech HD was
designed for the fabricator. It uses terms and technology you will understand.
We don’t expect our customers to have any CAD experiences and in many cases
any computer experience. We are bringing a software product to your world of
fabrication and we have worked very hard for you to feel comfortable with it in
minutes.
How do I get started? Getting started
with any project is always the hardest hurdle to overcome. Creating your own
header tube designs is as easy as locating points in 3D space using our
state-of-art special tools; our Tri-Star and Tri-Globe. Each of these tools
allows a user to place points in 3D space using familiar terms, such as; front,
back, left, right, floor and ceiling. Place points at each of the tube for the
header and the collector and place 2 more points showing the direction for both
ends.
Creating the tube is a 3D game of “connect
the dot”. Start from one end of the tube, select the 2 end points and the 2
directional points and a 2-bend tube is completed. That’s it!!!! Everything
else is nearly finished.
How do I move the tube around to create the
shape I am looking for? HD provides 2 unique ways to move the tubing on the
screen. Big increment moves are best made with our “Directional Spike Collar”.
Select a spike and pull the tube in that direction until it looks close to what
you desire. Small increments are made easy with a function called “Nudge”.
This function allows you to nudge the tube in a precision direction with ease.
I would like to even out the lengths? As
you are moving and altering your design, HD displays the length for each tube at
the bottom of the screen. The length display is updated dynamically at all
times.
What control do I have? Create your own
material libraries, radii and an inventory of pre-bent mandrel bends (“J” or
“U” bends). At any time you can change the radius of an individual bend,
alter the material diameter or even “step” the material. Adding and removing
bends are 2 clicks for completion. At anytime you can rotate and zoom your
project.
Collision Checking? Yes, HD will check
to verify your tubes are not intersecting as well as allow you to create
interference tubes and feature collision wires.
How do I build my header tube? Bend-Tech
HD will output a small instructional packet giving full descriptions (graphical
and text) of each tube section, including; length, angle, radius and material.
HD will also provide the amount of rotation needed between each tube section.
For customers using pre-bent mandrel tube,
we went the extra mile. Select one button, “J-Bend Calculator” and
Bend-Tech HD will optimize your tubing and graphically show you how to cut each
section out of your inventory.
If I have a mandrel bender, will Bend-Tech
HD provide me proper instructions? Yes it will as long as it is coupled with
our Bend-Tech SE software product. SE is our commercial tube bending software
product that will give you the proper length, rotation, angle and XYZ
information as well as calculated cut length.
